Terms and Conditions

Seating is limited. Space is reserved when registration and payment are received. An automatic email confirmation will be sent to you upon receipt of the above. All prices are subject to change. 

Students are expected to attend all 30 hours of classroom instruction. Unexcused absences or tardiness may be the cause for disqualification from classroom certification. Make-up classes can be made up during a future session with the approval of RESPONSIBLE DRIVING SCHOOL.

For all students regarding online scheduling of BTW appointments: 

1. Students may request 1 appointment per week (unless otherwise specified).
2. Students may ONLY have 2 scheduled appointments at a time unless allowed by the instructor.

Students are expected to attend their scheduled BTW appointments. Due to the high demand and limited availability, penalties and/or fees may be applied for NO SHOWS and unexcused CANCELATIONS.

1. For all appointments, you must notify us of a cancellation or any changes at least 48 hours prior to your appointment.
2. For any appointment that is cancelled within the 48-hour notice period, we reserve the right to apply a cancelation penalty. Cancellation penalties may include but are not limited: A $25 late cancelation fee, an increased waiting period before your next appointment, reduced instruction duration, loss of future appointment
3. We will notify you if any cancellation penalties are applied.
4. If a RESPONSIBLE DRIVING SCHOOL instructor must cancel your appointment due to unforeseen circumstances (I.e., inclement weather, illness, etc.). You will be rescheduled immediately for the next acceptable available appointment. No cancellation penalties will be applied. 
5. A $40 no show fee will be charged for students who do not attend their scheduled appointment without previous notification. Our test prep courses cover all of the material that students need to know for the exam. We provide comprehensive study materials and practice tests to help students feel confident and prepared.

Students will earn the required completion certificates per the State of Hawaii:

• The Classroom Certificate is earned after 100% completion of the classroom phase. This includes all coursework and 30 hours of class attended.
• The Behind-the-Wheel Certificate is earned after 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction with Responsible Driving School instructors and a completed notarized driving log of an additional 50 hours with a licensed driver over the age of 21.

Lost Certificates

• There shall be a $35 replacement fee to replace lost certificates. Also, an acknowledgement of lost completion certificate (provided by the instructor) MUST be completed to receive a replacement certificate. 

The following student conduct shall not be tolerated and can lead to expulsion from the program: 

1. Abusive language; 
2. Fighting; 
3. Smoking or chewing tobacco products; 
4. Vandalism; 
5. Use of drugs, alcohol or illegal substances; 
6. Any criminal acts as governed by law. 

There shall be NO refunds once class has started, or services have been provided. Withdrawals are eligible for FULL refunds only if requested more than 7 days prior to the 1st day of class. Otherwise, only a PARTIAL refund will be issued. 

If a RESPONSIBLE DRIVING SCHOOL staff is unable to contact student’s parent or one of the persons listed as an emergency contact, I hereby consent that if my child exhibits signs of illness or injury, that at the discretion of the staff, my child may be taken to the nearest medical facility and be given any treatment deemed necessary by the personnel of the medical facility.
